The Estate
A Sonoma original, quietly above the valley.
Casa de Chamizal sits high on Moon Mountain, on a 187-acre estate of terraced vineyards, oak woodlands, gardens, orchards, and a spring-fed pond. The land has been farmed for generations; the wines have collected their share of medals.
Guests stay in the Stone House — the original residence at the heart of the estate. It's private, generous, and unhurried: stone walls, deep verandas, a pool that looks out across the vines, and on a clear day, the silver line of the San Francisco Bay in the distance.
The estate is a working vineyard in the Moon Mountain AVA, one of Sonoma's most distinguished appellations. You're surrounded by it. Walk the rows in the morning, swim in the afternoon, open a bottle at sunset.
Downtown Sonoma — restaurants, tasting rooms, the historic Plaza — is twenty minutes away. San Francisco is an hour. But once you're up the drive, the rest of the world feels comfortably far.
